Clinicopathological profile of canine renal disorders

Renal disorders rank the highest among the non infectious health problems in canines. It arises either as a primary renal issue due to damage to renal parenchyma, congenital renal problems as well as secondary renal problem subsequent to infectionsor impairment of other organs like hepatic involvement when the undetoxified toxins damage the kidneys. The spectrum of clinical signs in dogs with renal disorders varies depending on the intensity and duration of the insult like whether it is of acute or chronic in nature. In this review, we shall discuss the various attributes of canine renal disorders like the etiological agents ending in renal disorders, clinicopathological diagnosis and post therapeutic follow up in dogs suffering with renal problems.
