In vitro embryo production is one of the important biotechnological tools to increase the reproduction and production performance of the cattle. Optimization of the various components of chemically defined media and its effects on in vitro embryo production is important for oocyte maturation, in vitro fertilization and embryo culture. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of glutamine and cysteamine supplemented to in vitro culture media on bovine embryonic development. Oocytes collected from ovaries of slaughtered cattle were matured at in vitro conditions and fertilized with frozen thawed semen in the fertilization medium with different glutamine and cysteamine concentrations. The synergistic effect of glutamine and cysteamine was assessed using different concentrations such as 50 µM, 100 µM and 150 µM based on the stages of embryo production. It was observed that the 50 µM concentration of glutamine and cysteamine has the significant role as synergistic effect to attain the oocytes to become16 cell and morula stage development.
