Effect of different dates of transplanting on the incidence of brinjal shoot and fruit borer

The present field experiment was conducted to study incidence of brinjal shoot and fruit borer L. orbonalis (Guenee) on different dates of transplanting at Horticulture Farm of Rajasthan College of agriculture, MPUAT Udaipur during Kharif July 2016 to February. The incidence of L. orbonalis on brinjal was noticed in different dates. The 3rd transplanted crop recorded relatively higher shoot damage with a mean of (18.01 per cent) followed by that in 1st, 2nd and 4th transplanted crop with a mean of 16.07 per cent, 16.17 per cent, and 15.86 per cent. Similarly; the 3rd transplantation crop recorded highest mean fruit damage (17.65 per cent on number basis and 15.70 per cent on weight basis) followed by 1st, 2nd, and 4th, transplanted crop recorded with a mean fruit damage (15.95 per cent on number basis and 14.64 per cent on weight basis, 15.95 per cent on number basis and 14.64 per cent on weight basis, 17.62 per cent on number basis and 14.97 per cent on weigh basis and then 16.67 per cent on number basis and 14.61 per cent on weight basis).
